NOMADS: EAST_ WEST

Visitors will find themselves before two screens placed at an angle so that they converge in the centre of their field of vision. They will witness a presentation of East and West seen through our eyes. The - real - images allow us to compare the information presented, and imagine and construct new paradigms in these changing and interdependent societies.

The furious pace of our civilisation, played out mainly in cities, will define the visual discourse. What is real and what is imagined, the actor-viewer, inside and out, are offered to visitors searching for their own experience.

Videos.- Two videos, each with an approximate duration of 15 minutes, will be projected simultaneously.

Video editing.- Directed by Montse Arbelo and Joseba Franco. The videos will be co-produced by the Audiovisual Department of the CCCB (Centre de Cultura Contemporànea de Barcelona).

The music.– Composed by Mandi Capote de Mali. The music tries to reconcile the most authentic aspects of Western and Eastern cultures, trying to capture the essence of both worlds. It is co-produced by the CCCB.

The screens.- Two screens connected together, or two adjoining white walls, will be used. The projected images will be adjusted to fit the dimensions of the exhibition space.

TFT (or Plasma) Screens / Monitors.- Visitors will be able to see and hear material gathered on our journeys, in which people talk about their experiences with other cultures.
